The W. Keith and Janet Kellogg University Art Gallery will host an exhibition sponsored by the Getty Foundation that showcases the finest examples of modern architecture in Southern California homes.
“Technology and Environment: The Post War House in Southern California” will appear in the gallery from April 11 to July 12. It is part of “Pacific Standard Time Presents: Modern Architecture in L.A.,” a series of programs and events stretching from Santa Barbara and Los Angeles to Pasadena and Pomona. The series, which is sponsored by the J. Paul Getty Trust, presents a wide-ranging look at Southern
California’s modern architectural heritage and the significant contributions of Southern California architects to national and global developments in architecture.
The Cal Poly Pomona art department will hold its first-ever “poly-kroma” event, a series of exhibitions sponsored by the College of Environmental Design, featuring the best pottery, sculpture, graphic design, drawing, painting, and street artwork from students, graduating seniors and art department alumni. The event, which will connect graduating seniors with professionals in the field, will run June 5 to 15 at the Millard Sheets Gallery at Fairplex in Pomona.
